The three CAIRnet sites provide novel animal models in the fields of oncology, cardiology, neurology, immunology/inflammation and infectious disease. Most of these models are specifically suited to perform imaging experiments as specific imaging protocols already exists at one partner site and the phenotype of these animal models are “imaging friendly”. In general, we are reluctant to exchange animal models between labs and vivariums as the risk to transfer rodents-specific pathogens and diseases are immense. However, our consortium has specific procedures in places (sentinel, regular health check, health certificate, etc…), which allow the restricted exchange of well monitored transgenic animal models. A list on models is accessible for registered users.
Please contact CAIRnet if you are interested in certain animal models.
